Course Description:
This three-hour continuing education course provides Ohio cosmetology professionals with practical instruction in sanitation, infection prevention, and workplace safety. Participants learn how infections spread and how hand hygiene, personal protective practices, and exposure prevention help protect clients, coworkers, and themselves. The course covers cleaning and disinfection procedures, safe handling of tools and equipment, and appropriate responses to blood and body fluid exposure. Additional topics include chemical safety, product labeling and storage, ventilation, electrical safety, ergonomics, and emergency preparedness in salon environments. Participants who successfully complete all three hours and required assessments receive a certificate documenting three hours of continuing education in Safety and Infection Control.
